Employment Lawyers Built on Trust, Relationships & Insight

About Trilogy HR Law

Founded by three employment lawyers in Teesside, Trilogy was created to deliver something different: outsourced HR and employment law support that feels like part of your team.

Why We Started Trilogy

Trilogy was founded by three experienced employment lawyers who shared a simple belief: employment law advice should be practical, proactive, and grounded in real business life.

As experienced commercial employment lawyers, we understand what works and what doesn’t. Simply, businesses need more than just legal advice, they need trusted partners who understand their people, their culture, and their commercial reality.

So we built Trilogy to deliver that.

We’re not a traditional law firm. We’re an outsourced HR and employment law practice designed to work as an extension of your team, giving you the confidence to handle workplace challenges fairly, reduce legal risk, and build stronger cultures.

We’ve supported hundreds of businesses across Teesside and the North East, from growing SMEs to established employers, helping them navigate everything from day-to-day employee relations to complex tribunal defence.

Our Approach

Trilogy is built on three core principles that guide everything we do:

Trust

We give honest, straightforward advice, even when the answer isn’t easy or the situation is uncomfortable.

You can rely on us to tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. We don’t exaggerate risk to generate fees, and we don’t minimise it to avoid difficult conversations.

Trust is earned through consistency, transparency, and doing what we say we’ll do.

Relationships

We take the time to understand your business, your values, and your people. That depth of relationship means our advice actually fits your culture and your commercial reality.

Our relationships aren’t transactional. Many of our client relationships last years, because we become part of how you operate, an extension of your team, not just someone you call when there’s a problem.

Relationships matter because context matters. The more we know about your business, the better our advice becomes.

Insight

We combine legal expertise with a deep understanding of workplace dynamics, business pressures, and human behaviour.

We don’t just tell you what the law says, we help you decide what to do next. That means balancing legal risk with commercial priorities, understanding the impact on culture and morale, and communicating in ways that preserve relationships even through difficult situations.

Insight means seeing the whole picture, not just the legal issue in isolation.

The power of our approach is integration.

We don't just defend tribunal claims, we help you build the HR processes and leadership capabilities that prevent them. We don't just investigate grievances, we train your managers so fewer grievances escalate. We don't just advise on the law, we help you embed it into how you manage people.

Rooted in the North East

We’re based in Teesside because this is where we live, work, and understand.

We know the North East economy, from traditional manufacturing and engineering to growing professional services, logistics, and digital businesses. We understand the employment challenges specific to our region: shift-based workforces, industrial relations, skills shortages, and the importance of long-term employment relationships.

Being local means we’re accessible, responsive, and grounded in the same business realities you face.

We work with businesses across Teesside, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Darlington, County Durham, and throughout the North East. We also support businesses nationally where they need our specialist expertise.

Clear Pricing, No Surprises

We are relationship-led, not transactional. Before any work begins, we take the time to understand your needs and agree clear pricing.

We offer three main pricing models:

Fixed-Fee Projects

For defined matters like settlement agreements, policy reviews, disciplinary support, or specific investigations, we quote a fixed fee upfront.

Monthly Retainers

For businesses who need ongoing advice, responsive support, and proactive guidance, we offer monthly retainer arrangements that give you consistent access without worrying about the clock.

Time-Based Work

For tribunal defence, complex projects, or matters where scope evolves, we charge by time with clear estimates and regular updates.

No hidden costs. No unnecessary complexity. Just transparent pricing that lets you plan with confidence.

Ready to Work Together?

Whether you need urgent support with a workplace issue, ongoing HR and employment law advice, or training to develop your leaders, we’re here to help.
